Behind the name of Avalon

The isle of Avalon (now known as the Glastonbury) is off the coast of England.  It is rummored that this isle location is where knights and defenders of the royal kingdom traveled seeking healing and recovery, and then return to battle.

Glastonbury sits on a former island in the Somerset Levels – the Isle of Avalon.  It has been a pilgrimage place since very ancient times, a Druidic centre and of one of Europe's greatest medieval abbeys.  Today Glastonbury is a town of 9,000 people and hosts contemporary arts festival, pilgrimages, a musical extravaganzas, carnivals and other events.

Tradition has it that Joseph of Arimathaea built the first church and King Arthur and Guinevere are buried there.  Once it was home to Saints Patrick, Dunstan, Benedict, David, Bridget and others.

In 2002 Martin Fierro opened the Rocklin office and came across information about Avalon's history and the reason it was a destination for recovery.  In that, Avalon Family Services took its name believing life is about confronting the battles, healing through the battles and return to life to fight more and more galently.
